SRP $24.95 2.35:1(16:9) DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1 COLUMBIA TRISTAR

Rock star/actor Jon Bon Jovi, stars as a vampire hunter in "VAMPIRES:LOS
MUERTOS", a sequel(of sorts) to the overlooked, "John Carpernter's Vampires".
Bon Jovi's character isn't as intriguing as James Woods' was in the original,
but he does an adequate job here, and again, an intersting band of assistants
join him for his newest assignment in seeking out and impaling the undead.

It's pretty much a "by-the-numbers" vampire film, with little in the way of plot
twists, but even on familiar ground, there are a few thrilling moments, and the
overall picture and sound quality add to the film's intended fun and scares.

Writer/Director Tommy Lee Wallace doesn't have the needed style of Carpenter,
but his sense of composition manages to create some interesting moments. The
Mexico setting, also adds to the film's success, at least in creating unusual
background.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented the film with its proper 2.35:1 aspect ratio and
16:9 enhancement.  It looks outstanding!  Colors are rich and vibrant in every
instance!  Fleshtones are perfectly natural throughout, and there's great depth
in every scene. Contrast is also impressive, with minimal grain to boot!

The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundmix is aggressive throughout the film.  Similar in
its intentions to the original film, from the opening sequence to the end, the
musical score becomes fundamental to the film's atmosphere, and encircles the
viewer in key moments. There are plenty of surround effects and the LFE track is
used throughout the film.

An audio commentary with Wallace is included, and while he's entertaining and
passionate, it's still not anything special.

Trailers for "VAMPIRES:LOS MUERTOS", "GHOSTS OF MARS", and "BRAM STOKER'S
DRACULA" are also included.
