DREAMWORKS has released Jackie Chan's newest "American" comedy, "THE TUXEDO."  Chan plays an ordinary cab driver, who gets a break driving for a wealthy businessman. When his boss is finished off by someone, Chan uncovers the truth about his boss. He was a secret agent! His boss was trying to prevent a madman from poisoning the world's water, in the hopes to make his own bottled water the only available, "expensive" resource!  Chan literally puts himself into his boss's shoes and "tuxedo," finding that it has high-tech gadgetry, enabling him to perform super-human-hero-stunts, as he battles the bad guys to save the world!  Jennifer Love Hewitt is aboard as a new agent assisting him.  Unfortunately, any intended romance falls flat, as there's no on-screen chemistry between these two. It's actually the  most unbelievable thing about the film!

"THE TUXEDO' is actually entertaining and even funny, if one can get accept the silly plot.  Chan gets to provide some unusual,(even by his standards) footwork, and the stunt/action scenes are great.  It's generally clean and entertaining for the whole family.

DREAMWORKS has chosen to release separate widescreen and full-frame versions of this film.  The widescreen presentation preserves the correct 1.85:1(16:9) aspect ratio of the film. Colors are bold and the image thoroughly compliments the wonderful production design of the film.  Contrast is also quite good, offering excellent definition in darker scenes.  There is some minor grain, but it doesn't detract from the otherwise, excellent transfer.

Both a Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 mix are offered.  Both mixes are aggressive, offering virtually non-stop surround/directional effects. There is also frequent usage of .1(lfe) effects to give even the best subwoofer a real workout! Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.

DREAMWORKS has provided some noteworthy extras for this release! In addition to 9 deleted scenes, there is also an HBO special, blooper reel and more!

The blooper reel is funnier than most, and it would be  hard for anyone to not  like Chan's warm-heartedness, coming through on it.

While fans of the film will enjoy the "deleted scenes" segment, it's obvious why they were cut, and would've dragged the film down.

Overall, "THE TUXEDO" makes for a fun viewing experience, and has delighted several younger viewers(ages 11-14) three times already!
