BUENA VISTA has released "TOY STORY" on blu-ray. It's a true classic! "TOY STORY" is every bit as entertaining as it was during its initial release 15 years ago, and it will be just as great in another 15 years.  Tom Hanks stars as the voice of Woody, the beloved cowboy doll belonging to 6-year old Andy. While the other toys stowed near "Woody" are fearful of being replaced by the next, great toy, Woody has always been a calming voice of reason. Unfortunately, even Woody's confidence is shaken with the arrival of Andy's newest toy, "BUZZ LIGHTYEAR,(brilliantly voiced by Tim Allen)well regarded as "the coolest action figure ever known!"  So, when Buzz arrives, Woody's plan to get rid of him, backfires, leaving both of them lost in the big, unsafe, world outside the safety of Andy's home. The duo must join together in facing thrilling, often hilarious perils, in order to make it back to safety.

BUENA VISTA has provided a 1.78:1 aspect ratio for this AVC MPEG-4 1080p blu-ray.  Colors have never been more impressive than they are here. There's never a hint of banding or oversaturation and it's just remarkable how impressive every frame appears. The detail, of course, is just as flawless. For those curious about blu-ray, "TOY STORY" may very well be the perfect demo material needed to push dvd owners over! BUENA VISTA and Pixar continually release great looking blu-rays, but it's hard to imagine any of them looking better than this!

BUENA VISTA has also provided a DTS-HD MA 5.1 mix.  One of the most immersive sound-mixes, ever! Whether Woody and Buzz are making leaps at the arcade, or flying on a rocket, audiences are continuously swept up into the exhilarating world of "TOY STORY," making the PIXAR world a convincing one, and easy to accept as reality. LFE, surrounds and panning effects are perfectly blended with a dazzling score and dialogue. It's just one more of the many fascinating elements belonging to "TOY STORY" and this blu-ray release, in particular, making it a must-have for every collection!

In addition to all of the extras being carried over from previous dvd, (480p)some great new features, including a look at "TOY STORY 3" are presented in 1080p.
