It's not good to generalize, but "anyone" that doesn't like "TOY STORY" and "TOY STORY 2" is not a very caring person!!!!   These are both the kinds of films that should be able to bring smiles and even "tears" to even the most cynical of adults in the audience.  They work on the child in us, much in the same way that Speilberg's films have done! 

The first film introduces us to Woody, the cowboy-doll who's been tossed aside for the newer, more dynamic "Buzz Lightyear".  As the story progresses, real issues about the loss of innocence, what it means to become "mature" and other important matters come to surface, but never at the expense of an enchanting and often hilarious story!  The special effects achieved through PIXAR, are nothing short of mind-boggling!  Computer animation has never looked this good!!!

The voices are perfectly cast, and I think it's a safe bet to say Tom Hanks has never been better!  Tim Allen is wonderful too, but so is the entire cast!  There are great jokes that children will love, but there are also some multi-level "inside" jokes for the parents to appreciate.  This is a great family film!!!

Because both Toy Story 1 & 2 are actually made from "digitally" computerized animation, they're perfect for "dvd" technology.  These films are up there with the best looking dvd transfers ever!!!  It's hard to imagine their quality will be surpassed!

They've both been given the THX seal of approval, and because the transfer is digital-to-digital, rather than digital-to-analog, it appears to be flawless!!!!

The transfers to both films feature incredibly bright and bold colors.  Their levels are perfect, achieving stunning clarity without any trade-offs!  There is no artifacting, of course!

The dolby digital 5.1 sound mix offered on both is also of demonstration quality.  The sound mix is as creative and innovative as the story!  Directional effects are utilized to thoroughly enhance and compliment what's going on in the film, never "at the expense" of it!!!
