While this reviewer must admit I wasn't interested at all in seeing this film during its intitial theatrical release,  laserdisc offers the perfect opportunity to become captivated by its magic.  One doesn't have to like Bill Clinton to enjoy "Primary Colors" because it's so well made.  The story which follows a campaign manager's disillusionment and new-found admiration for a candidate during an election, offers many surprises as well as terrific dialogue.  The acting is outstanding!  Even the most minor players bring about convincing portraits.  The transfer from UNIVERSAL/PIONEER is flawless!  The fleshtones are perfect.   colors and contrast are first-rate.  The Dolby Digital sound is effective, though not extremely active in most portions of the film.
