PARAMOUNT has released the overlooked, engaging Demi Moore film, "PASSION OF MIND".  Ron(Rain Man)Bass wrote this unusual film about a woman living alternative lives, similar in structure and premise to "Sliding Doors".   Moore is quite good playing two women whose lives are in direct conflict with each other.  As soon as one sleeps, the other's life awakens!  Marie lives in France, Marty in New York.

Both women need therapy and the two psychologists and lovers they've acquired can do nothing to help them.  The premise is extremely provocative, and the direction helps make the plot compelling, even while it's a bit sluggish at times.    .

Moore is at her best, but the two male leads are less impressive,
seeming two-dimensional in comparison to her character in terms of development.  What is compelling, however, is trying to determine "which" of the two characters played by Moore, is real!

The transfer is incredible!  From the film's opening moments, we now we're in the hands of a master cinematographer!  Eduardo Serra creates images that linger on, long after the film has ended.  PARAMOUNT has kept the film's 2.35:1 aspect ratio intact and the 16:9 enhancement helps make the resolution stand out even more!  While there is minor pixelation, overall, the transfer looks great!  Even in the darkest scenes, there is excellent contrast control and color values are solid!

The Dolby Digital 5.0 sound mix doesn't allow for an extremely active rear speaker sound stage, however, the beautiful film score receives a wonderful presentation, with an enveloping presence. Dialogue is generally center channel focused.
