PASSIONADA” is one of those romantic dramas that makes you like it in spite of itself! It’s easy to see where things are going way ahead of time, but the characters and mood of the film are so delightful,
predictability doesn’t detract from the film’s overall impact. The daughter of beautiful widow Sofia, has tried to set her mom up on dates, without success. But, hope arrives after a gambler becomes
smitten with Sofia upon hearing her sing.  The daughter makes a pact with the gambler: If he teachers her how to gamble successfully by counting cards, she’s going to help him win her mother’s heart.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented the film with its proper 2.35:1 aspect ratio and 16:9 enhancement.  It’s a stunning transfer! The colors are solid and more vibrant than in most transfers we’ve seen lately.
There’s great depth in every scene and contrast is non-existent. Fleshtones appear natural.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented a wonderful sound mix for this release. While it’s not overly aggressive, it’s extremely effective, offering great bass and numerous directional effects.  The music is
well complimented throughout Dialogue is always intelligible and free from distortion.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented some extras for this release.  Director Dan Ireland and writers offer commentary on separate tracks.  An alternate ending is also included, with optional commentary.
