Chris Tucker stars in NEW LINE's "MONEY TALKS". Playing a fast-talking con on the run from ruthless thugs, he ends up palling with Charlie Sheen. Tucker's quite funny, and while the film is typically routine in nature, the humor is creative. Heather Locklear is unfortunately barely visible. The story, while predictable, is still more entertaining than "Rush Hour".
The dvd transfer is extremely good, with minimal artifacting. The colors are typically vibrant, and contrast is good. The dolby digital 5.1 sound mix is extremely active, offering an abundance of directional effects, as is evident in the film's opening segment. There are no supplements offered.

"MORTAL KOMBAT" makes for a fun viewing for the family(well, it's still better than pro-wrestling!) While it's quite aggressive, the violence is cartoonish in nature, and the special effects sequences(there are many) offer great sound effects as well. The plot, does serve in making characters simplistic as either good or evil, and it's easy to root for the heroes here! Women are given fair share of the glory as well.
The transfer offers excellent depth and clarity, even in the frequently darker sequences! There's great contrast! There's an abundance of "morphing" effect sequences, and they all have spectacular definition to every inch of screen image! The dolby digital 5.1 sound mix offers non-stop directional effects and a loud LFE channel!
