PARAMOUNT
has released the surprisingly funny, box-office fiasco, “MARCI X.”
Lisa
Kudrow stars as Marci, the heir to her father’s media empire, who must use her
wit and charm to change the destructive behaviour of a rap star(Damon
Wayans)whose antics are threatening the survival of the company.
While
Damon Wayans has proven to be inconsistent(at best) in terms of his comedic
talents with past feature films(Major Payne, Bulletproof), director Richard
Benjamin has always been consistent in being horrible(Made In America, Milk
Money,etc). So,
it’s a real surprise to find this film is generally pleasing.
Sure, there are some incredibly lame moments, but overall, it’s funny!
PARAMOUNT
has preserved the film’s 1.85:1 ratio, with 16:9 enhancement.
Colors are often vibrant, and well rendered.
Contrast is flawless, with exquisite definition in even the darkest
scenes. Fleshtones
appear natural.
PARAMOUNT
has presented a
Dolby Digital 5.1 mix, with a generally active surround mix.
Ambient effects are present in almost every scene, and the musical
soundtrack is well complimented through all speakers. Dialogue is always
intelligible and free from distortion.
