Available just in time to make a perfect Christmas gift, "The Man With No Name" trilogy offers three of Eastwood's best westerns in one set.  Director Sergio Leone brings his unique perspective to the screen with unforgettable results in "A Fistful of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More" and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".  "A Fistful of Dollars" has never been available on dvd before.  The image is far superior to the last laserdisc presentation.  There's great detail and colors are sharp as well.  The mono sound is fine, but unremarkable.  A pan&scan version is also offered, but it destroys Leone's compositions and serves new dvd consumers by displaying how much is lost without the letterboxed format.

"For a Few Dollars More"- is the same transfer previously available.  Nice crisp image, decent mono soundtrack.   Available in widescreen only.  It doesn't offer 16:9 enhancement, but the image is extremely sharp and worthy of praise.

"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"- is awsome!!!!While previously available, it offers 14 minutes of restored footage, adding greatly to the film's narrative structure.  The transfer is enhanced for 16:9, adding even more depth to an already terrific looking transfer.  All three of these films together make a great gift, and we're grateful to have it on our collection!!!!
