LOST HIGHWAY

David Lynch has never been stranger. This is no small compliment for a director that aspires to tell stories in the most bizarre fashion possible. Obviously, like all Lynch films, "Lost Highway" will confuse, thrill and anger many viewers. It's not possible to summarize what the film is about and do it justice. Suffice it to say that it explores evil. In doing so, Lynch utilizes various storytelling techniques with great impact. The film works in parts well better than as a whole, and it's due to this that it can withstand many repeated viewings. The transfer is often stunning to watch. Every scene is sharp in spite of constantly changing lighting perspectives. The 2.35:1 aspect ratio is perfectly intact. The Dolby Digital surround is as creative and entertaining as any we've ever heard.
