THE LEGEND
BUENA VISTA HOME ENTERTAINMENT has released one of the better Jet Li action films.  "THE LEGEND" stars Li as a Martial Arts Expert whom must save his family from the assassin sent to destroy it upon orders of the Emperor! 
The story is actually pretty decent, considering the Martial Arts theme.
Li's skills as a fighter have been passed down to him, not from his father,
but from his mother!  This makes for some outstanding and unusual fight
sequences!
The look and sound of the film are incredible!  From the opening credit
sequence, the viewer knows we're in store for some real fun!  The Dolby
Digital 5.1 mix is extremely aggressive, carefully blending the wonderful
score with the virtually non-stop foley effects!  There are plenty of
"Martial Arts" sound effects in every scene and all speakers are used
throughout the film.  While the dubbing is horrible, the action distracts
the audience enough to make this film extremely entertaining.
The transfer is stunning!  Color values are solid and there's great clarity
throughout the film.  Fleshtones appear perfectly natural.  Contrast is
excellent, and there's no artifacting! 
There are plenty of trailers included on this dvd.  All of them are "Martial
Arts" films, and none of them are properly letterboxed.
