LADYHAWKE

"Ladyhawke"really shows its age when takes into account that Matthew Broderick is basically cast for comic relief and Rutger Hauer was being considered considered potentially big-name Box-office! "Blade Runner" aside, after seeing him in this, most should still be bewildered he didn't achieve huge success. Hauer has a commanding presence in every scene he's in. Michelle Pfeiffer looks beautiful as always, and her beauty is further complimented in the striking presentation of the DVD format. If there was some blemish on her, the detail to the picture would've picked it up. Dealing with knights-in-armor, a comic-book villain, unrequited love, and a curse, "Ladyhawke" is great fun in the tradition of "Robin Hood", "Scaramouche" and other great films of classic Hollywood. One of the film's most interesting characteristics, its unusual and modern score is rendered even more exciting now that it's available in Dolby Digital 5.1! There are plenty of sound effects that are enhanced with this format as well.
