Emmanuelle  Beart has never looked better than she does in "L'Enfer".   This is no small feat, particularly because the transfer leaves room for improvement.  While it's not bad, it's a bit too grainy at times, and the subtitles are not always sharp due to the general clarity and contrast of the picture in certain scenes.  We also had a horrible time trying to watch the included trailer, a defect that didn't extend to the film has created a blurring/compression effect that we couldn't correct.  The digital mono sound is fine.
