SRP $19.98 FULL-FRAME DOLBY SURROUND WARNER BROS.

The new WARNER BROS. release of “JUSTICE LEAGUE” consists of the first three episodes of the series cartoon airing on the Cartoon Network.

Even though Batman, Superman, and the Flash are here, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, and Hawkgirl, are but a few of the other characters that add absolutely “nothing” advantageous to the story.  The plot opens on Mars when an astronaut stumbles upon a door, and unlocks something mysterious from within.   We cut to years later at Wayne laboratories wherein aliens manage to fight of both Batman and Superman, while destroying a satellite communications system.  After this sequence, other events, including brainwaves being sent out to Superman and other superheroes from the Martian Manhunter, are revealed, but with little plausibility or surprise.  This just isn’t very well conceived or written.

WARNER BROS. has released “JUSTICE LEAGUE” in Full-frame.  Although there’s some grain present, the image is still decent overall.  Not very slick, mind you, but far better than what was presented with the mediocre “BATMAN AND MR. FREEZE:SUBZERO” dvd release.

WARNER BROS has presented the soundmix in DOLBY DIGITAL 2.0.  There are a few decent directional effects, but overall, the mix is restrained.  Surrounds are used minimally, with the exception of music passages.

There are a few extras, including:

Character bios, Cast and crew “voice” bios, and trailers.
