BUENA VISTA deserves a big hand for the job they've done with "Judge Dredd".   While this reviewer didn't much care for the film in theaters, he's got to admit that it was actually a lot of fun this time out!  This may be due to the sensational quality of the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. It's unrelenting in its effects!  This also demonstrates an inherent benefit of a quality DVD on a quality home entertainment system.   I'm certain the sound quality wasn't up to the full potential in the theater I first viewed this film at.  However, with my Sherwood R-945, "Judge Dredd" is a real thrill!   The kids really enjoyed the stunning visual effects and the story, which is comic-like, was perfect for them, and amusing for adults at the same time.   The transfer captures the innumerable special effects  without a hitch!   One of the best sounding and looking DVDs out there so far, and it's not even 16:9 enhanced!
