Jailbreakers
We can’t
explain why the director of “The Exorcist” and “French Connection” is making
films like “Jailbreakers”. Can he need the money? Doherty stars as a nice
schoolgirl in love with a bad boy, and we mean “bad”! In no time at all, he’s
gotten her to join him in a crime spree, and as their love grows, so does the
action, well, it’s supposed to. But, even at under 80 minutes, the film moves
too slowly. We’ve seen this all before, and it’s always been better! This looks
and plays like a really bad cable movie, which in fact it was, for Showtime!
BUENA VISTA has preserved the film’s correct 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The image is
a little too soft throughout, and while colors are generally fine, there are
signs of pixelation. Contrast is fine, but not exceptional.
The original stereo track offers some decent music and the dialogue is well focused and free of distortion.
There are some trailers included.
