INFESTED
When five friends, now in their 30s are reunited over the death of a friend, they don't find time for self-reflection ala "THE BIG CHILL," because they're too busy fighting for their lives! In this low-budget film, evoking memories of '50s bug films as well as "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD," swarms of bugs are taking over human bodies, eating them inside-out, before exiting to their next host! The film never strays away from its low budget look, but it's surprisingly well-directed and acted. "INFESTED" is a fun film, filled with quirky plot twists, and for a bug film, it even has a refreshing atmosphere!
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has provided a slick looking transfer! In spite of its extremely low-budget,(effects are none too impressive!)the overall image is great! There's excellent depth in every scene. Colors are usually vibrant, and contrast is sharp, with deep blacks and grays. Fleshtones appear natural.
The Dolby 2.0 Surround mix is energetic, offering a multitude of surround effects, but it's most impressive in terms of complimenting the great '80s score.
