SRP $24.98 1.851(16:9) STEREO ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT
In the future, after WW3, apparently there are very few good or "non-sterile" good men.  Rowdy Roddy Piper portrays one of the last manly men of the future in "HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN".  Piper's character is aptly named "Hell" and when the government realizes his procreative potential, he's put under the guard of Sandahl Bergman.  Soon enough, they venture off to "Frogtown", a post-nuclear holocaust town where mutants have taken women hostage as sex surrogates.  There's plenty of guns, explosions, and nudity as Piper and his crew rescue the girls and he takes advantage of the opportunity to procreate.

ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT has really done a great job with this transfer.  This film is "low" budget by any standards, and one can't tell from the slick image presented here.  The 1.85:1 aspect ratio is intact with 16:9 enhancement.  The colors are solid and sharp. There's great detail and minimal grain.  Contrast is decent, although blacks and grays have been deeper on other ANCHOR BAY releases.

The Dolby Digital Stereo soundtrack is adequate, but lacking in directional effects.  However, the musical score is well represented and actually boosts the film's atmosphere with correct speaker separation at creative moments.

ANCHOR BAY ENTERTAINMENT has included an audio commentary with the film's director and writer.  Surprisingly, it's really a fun commentary!  The two give a lot of information about the tactics in getting a low-budget film made, and give examples of what cost the minimal budget to skyrocket to just a "low" budget film.
