Finally, the overlooked classic, "Heart and Souls" has finally been released with 5.1 sound!  Robert Downey Jr. is terrific in this film about second chances destined to be a Christmas classic, Valentine's Day Classic, and almost any time classic! While the previous laserdisc version had excellent sound quality, the film couldn't deliver its full impact with standard dolby pro-logic.  It's hard to imagine anyone viewing this film and not falling in love with it, but now, with the significant benefits of  directional effects offered with DTS encoding, they'll have even more reason to appreciate it!  "Heart&Souls" is the 90s version of "It's A Wonderful Life"!  It's not a remake in any sense, although it does have an angel, actually four of them!   The picture quality appears to be from the same master as the previous version, offering generally consistent fleshtones as well as fine clarity.  However, UNIVERSAL has just announced this title to be coming out later in 98 on DVD, and the picture should be sharper.  However, absent a DTS DVD of this film, we'll take the DTS laserdisc anytime!
