Borrowing more than a little from an idea found in “JURASSIC PARK,” DNA is taken from the remains of the Godzilla destroyed decades before, and then used to enhance the technology of a robot “Mechagodzilla,” created by the Japanese government to battle any new Godzilla-like monster. While there’s some narrative, most of this fast-paced film, is made up of one battle after another.
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has preserved the film’s 2.35:1 aspect ratio, with 16:9 enhancement. Colors are solid, and often vibrant. It’s a fine image, in spite of some grain. Fleshtones are natural and contrast is excellent.
COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix, and it’s extremely aggressive! The discrete/directional effects are virtually non-stop, and there’s great depth to this mix in almost every scene. Even the music is well complimented here. COLUMBIA TRISTAR has included several trailers.
