I was pleasantly surprised by the DreamWorks dvd release of "Forces of Nature".  Having had no desire to see it during its theatrical run, there were no high expectations for its entertainment value on dvd.  What a mistake!!!!    It's one of the most original romantic/comedies to come along since "It Happened One Night" and how long ago was that???   The chemistry between Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock builds at its own believable pace, and the dialogue is intelligent without seeming contrived. 

The transfer is outstanding!!!(DreamWorks hasn't had an "average" looking dvd release so far!!!)  The colors are unbelievable, the detail is perfect, and the 16:9 enhancement offers a major advantage.  The dolby digital 5.1 sound offers an agressive sound mix as well.  There are a lot of sound effects in this film in spite of natural settings, making the experience that more realistic.  In addition, "Forces of Nature" offers what may be the best live menus so far.(WARNER BROS' "The Postman" is also high on the list".  Also included with the dvd are deleted scenes(adding little to the film), theatrical trailer and production notes.
