Johnathon Schaech and Harvey Keitel star in "Finding Graceland", a quirky thriller about a down-on-his-luck kid going nowhere fast in his dying cadillac.   After meeting an eccentric, played perfectly by Keitel, things get bizarre.   The drifter believes he's Elvis, seeking to return home to Graceland.  The film may be too bizarre for most audiences, but his reviewer loved it.  Even more entertaining are the deleted scenes, some of which should have been kept!

The transfer looks wonderful!  The 2.35:1 aspect ratio is intact, and while the film was obviously kept at a modest budget, the quality of the production design never seems to suffer.  The colors are vibrant and contrast is fine.  The surround sound is sparse in way of directional effects however.  A directors audio commentary is included.

Jason Gedrick isn't Tom Cruise, but that doesn't stop this action film from trying to duplicate the look and feel of "Top Gun".  It doesn't matter that it's not as well-crafted, because it's still a lot of cheezy fun!  The dvd transfer looks fine, although color values vary.  The 1.85:1 aspect ratio is intact and contrast is generally sharp.  What's most worthwhile about this dvd is the remastered dolby digital 5.1 sound mix!  It's filled with outstanding LFE effects!

"Jawbreaker" owes a lot to "Heathers", but it's not nearly as clever or entertaining.  While the cast offers some talented young actors, director/writer Darren Stein hits a one-note story that never achieves the comedic proportions it aspires to.  The dvd transfer, on the other hand, is outstanding.   The colors are bright and sharp.  There's great detail, and the dolby digital 5.1 sound mix boasts a terrific score as well as a multitude of directional effects.   There's also an audio commentary with the film's director/writer, but after seeing the film, who cares?

Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey starred in this horror film before they became famous, but to tell the truth, it's not bad at all!  It's certainly the best of the Chainsaw sequels, and director/writer  Kim Henkel creates some truly suspenseful moments.

The transfer varies in quality.  While it's never bad, the contrast varies greatly from scene-to-scene, in spite of 16:9 enhancement.  The stereo sound is adequate, offering minimal directional effects.
