Sylvester Stallone stars in the "straight-to-dvd" thriller, "EYE SEE YOU."  Actually, the premise isn't bad.  A special rehab center in the mountains of Wyoming, is targeted towards law enforcement officials with alcohol/drug problems.  Enter Stallone, as Jake Malloy, an FBI agent whom has taken to heavy drinking following his failure to catch a cop-killer. Making matters worse, the killer got to Stallone's girlfriend before getting away. 

Now that Stallone's trying to get his life back on track, things go awry when a storm cuts off all outside communications, just as a killer begins to strike the patients one-by-one! It's up to Stallone to save the day and his and everyone else's life.

The film is directed by Jim Gillespie of "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" fame, so there's more than a little of the "who's behind the door/curtain" camera angles and setups. Still, it makes for good fun, and Stallone's presence actually makes this feel like a really good "B" movie.

The supporting cast, including the always beautiful and underused Polly Walker, Kris Kristofferson, and Charles S. Dutton, help make the viewer care about their well-being, even when the script fails to.

COLUMBIA TRISTAR has presented a slick looking transfer. The colors are sharp, though intentionally not overly-vibrant.  Contrast is excellent, offering deep blacks and grays in the frequently darker scenes. Fleshtones appear natural.

The Dolby  Digital 5.1 mix offers an aggressive surround track.  While mostly utilized for ambient effects, the surrounds and directional effects help in enhancing the isolated winter feel, essential to the film.
