BUENA VISTA HOME ENTERTAINMENT is back to releasing their “WALT DISNEY TREASURES.” 

“THE COMPLETE GOOFY” makes for a terrific addition to any animation fans’ dvd collection.  This new release offers over five hours of the lovable dog’s cartoons.  It’s an amazing thing to witness animation that is still extremely entertaining so many decades after its inception. 

BUENA VISTA has presented these cartoons in their original 1.33:1 aspect ratio.  The image to this transfer is typically great!  Colors are often vibrant, and there are few signs of scratches or other noise.  The contrast is also impressive, with deep blacks, and excellent detail. 

BUENA VISTA elected to offer this special release in Dolby Digital 2.0 monaural sound.  While purists probably wouldn’t have wanted a Dolby Digital 5.1 remix, there’s a surprising amount of hiss.  Still, the fidelity is impressive due to much of the animations’ age. 

There are a variety of supplements included here.  An introduction by Disney expert/fan Leonard Maltin along with an interview he did with Goofy’s new voice, Bill Farmer, is also quite entertaining.
