Michael Dudikoff and Lisa Howard are back in "BOUNTY HUNTERS 2:HARDBALL". This direct-to-video sequel brings back the two as former lovers turned bounty hunters, now living together, but not for long! Dudikoff's quirky actions play well against Howard's surprised looks, although it's nothing we haven't seen many times before in many direct-to-video movies. Like many low-budget films, the plot is more complicated than it needs to be. Tony Curtis appears briefly as a top mob figure whose underlings are trying to knock off Dudikoff for ruining a heist they engineered. There's also a sub-plot involving a bomber. He too gets involved with the mob, making the plot even more ridiculous. As silly as the plot is, it's nothing more incredulous than in most cable films, and it has its share of funny moments as well.
BUENA VISTA HOME ENTERTAINMENT has included the correct 1.85:1 aspect ratio and 16:9 enhancement. The transfer is sharper here than in the previous film, with sharper colors and better contrast. While this isn't a slick transfer, it's a much better image overall and pleasant to watch.
The Dolby Digital 2.0 sound mix isn't overly aggressive, but it has some engaging surround effects. The LFE channel is surprisingly active with a large offering of explosions and gunfire.
