The image transfer to this "DTS" title is equivalent to the sharp transfer available on the dolby digital version.  The sound, however, offers a great advantage. While there was incredible clarity and direction to the rear speaker sound mix on the dolby digital version, the "dts" version adds far greater clarity detail to these effects in almost every comparitive scene.  What's missing however, are the extras offered on the dolby digital dvd.  Still, if we had to choose we'd opt for the "dts" version.

Another "DTS" dilemna.  While the image to this "DTS" offering is equivalent to the dolby digtal version, the distinctive sound differences are far superior in "DTS"!  This is evident in the film's opening sequence during the rainy funeral.  While both dvds have an active sound mix, the "DTS" version is noticeably more layered with effects.  While we loved the outtakes, only available on the dolby digital version, we'd still opt for the "dts" version if we had to choose.  The reason for this choice is simple: For the full enjoyment of the movie alone, we want the best option,...here it's the dts version.

While the "DTS" version offers a slight advantage in clarity over the dolby digital version, we're not sure it's  enough of a difference to opt for the more costly "dts" version.  The image on both appears identical, with excellent contrast and color values, important due to the vast number of special effect sequences.   Our indifference lies in the fact that this is one for the entire family, and I know my kids really enjoy watching the dts version,  I inevitably am asked to get the outtakes offered on the other dolby digital dvd after every viewing.
