Director Anthony Waller has bitten off more than he can chew in his sequel to "American Werewolf in London". Waller has real talent, made apparent in his superior thriller, "Mute Witness". However, there's little of anything original in "American Werewolf in Paris". In fact, he makes little use of the potentially exciting french background, so one must ask why he chose this location. Why not "American Werewolf in L.A.?"
With this said, however, the quality of the transfer is excellent! The dolby digital 5.1 soundtrack pulsates for the duration of almost every scene. Waller has selected some great music to compliment various but infrequent tense moments. The picture also looks sharp with few moments where pixels are visible.

"Swingers" is an imperfect, but ultimately enjoyable film. While at times, it feels longer than its brief(96 min)running time, it's often funny, charming, and thoroughly original. This independent film follows the struggles of young friends trying, not as much to make it big, as simply survive in the often hostile environment of L.A. and its social scene. The acting is excellent, the direction stylish, and the pace is usually good.
The DVD transfer magnifies the best and worst elements of the film. "Swingers" is the kind of film that makes for great entertainment and repeated viewings on the small screen. Unfortunately, the dolby stereo soundtrack had more depth on the laserdisc version. Also, while the picture's graininess was visible in theaters, darker scenes cause pixels to become more visible. Overall, this DVD is still worth getting, because one can typically get it at a reduced price of $24.98 and it's on average as good as the laserdisc, but also will last longer for less.

Most of the original cast(whom survived)the first "Scream" are back, and there's even a surprising cameo from a cast member who didn't make it out alive. "SCREAM 2" is far superior to its predecessor, with more style, and more even pacing. While it eventually runs out of steam near the end, there's plenty of laughs and thrills before hand.
This is a terrific presentation! The video and sound quality are truly striking! Fleshtones, contrast and depth are flawless in every frame. The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound makes excellent use of all its discrete channels and bass, as is made evident in the complex soundmix of the opening scene. Not much extra here, just a theatrical trailer, but it's definitely worth getting!

Director Stanley Tong has created some hilarious moments from an uneven script in "Mr. Magoo." Tong knows how to film slapstick for maximum effect, and it's in these moments that Nielsen really shines. The rest of the film is a little too juvenile for adults, but the children watching with this reviewer were laughing continuously throughout the film. Speaking of shining, the transfer is extremely glossy with great clarity and fleshtones. The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound offers some innovative directional moments.
