ABOUT ADAM
While this film about a young waitress, Lucy, who meets and falls for "Adam", the man of her dreams, is supposed to be funny, it's really just disturbing! It turns out, and the comedy is supposed to be generated from the fact that Adam is sleeping with the girl's two sisters! That's not all! He's also sleeping with the girlfriend of Lucy's brother! It's hard to laugh at the fact that Lucy's sisters have no problem cheating with her fiance'. More than that, there's nothing original in the script. None of the characters are defined better than the typical guest star of a "Three's Company" episode!
The narrative structure of the film is also confusing, cutting back and forth in time, and offering worthless narration as well. Hudson isn't bad as Lucy, but everything else about the film is!
The film is presented with the proper 1.85:1 aspect ratio
and 16:9 enhancement. There's generally fine detail to each scene, but there is
some grain and contrast isn't as consistent as on most superior BUENA VISTA
releases. Colors are solid and fleshtones appear natural throughout.
The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mix has no rear speaker effects, although the front
soundstage is well mixed with a variety of separational effects. Dialogue
is always intelligible and free of distortion.
There is
a short featurette, offering fluff, and a few trailers.
